Hamra Annaba Club Sportif Amateur commonly known as Hamra Annaba is an Algerian Championnat National Amateur football club based in Annaba. The club was founded in 1934 as USM Bône. The club changed its name after the country gained independence from France from USM Bône to USM Annaba due to the name change of the city from Bône to Annaba. The club later went under another name change from USM Annaba to Hamra Annaba in 1983, which has remained since.
History
In 1964, playing under the name USM Annaba, not to be confused with the current USM Annaba (a new team created in 1983), the club won its first Algerian Championnat National.[1]
In 1972, Hamra Annaba won its first Algerian Cup in the club's history by beating USM Alger 2-0 in the final.[2]
The club came eighth in the 2009-10 Ligue Inter-Régions de football - Groupe Est.[3] The club was promoted for the 2010-11 season of the newly created Championnat National de Football Amateur due to the professionalisation of the first two divisions in Algeria.[4]
